‘I Miss The Way He Looked at Me’ (News Feature)

Community journalism is more than reporting on education, government and crime. It’s also about helping the community and its residents when you can.

In 2015, this story tugged at my heartstrings. As the Crestview News Bulletin’s editor-in-chief, I knew we could amplify that story (and the search effort).

Most stories I wrote as a journalist featured multiple sources, by design. But this woman’s story centers on the relationship between a daughter and a father who can’t speak for himself. I really just wanted to help.
